WHAT I ATE IN A DAY

6:00 am- I work early in the morning and decide to fuel my body with Ezekiel bread with peanut butter and a kiwi. I wanted some carbs cause I knew I would be working out later.

8:45- grabbed this snack on my way out to run an errand! The guy giving out samples at Sprouts quickly persuaded me that these were a good buy! Very yummy!

10:30 – Just ate this tiny amount of sweet potatoes before my run.

12:30- post run fuel with my Herbalife shake. I added mixed berries. Gotta get that protein in!

1:30 – very small snack before heading out just ate three crackers and hummus cause I was craving it! And a little bit of these buffalo cauliflower pieces! Fights my meat craving perfectly!

3:00- Picked up this drink while waiting for my car at the car wash. I love the texture of it even though it’s strange. It has 4 grams of protein though which is cool!

4:30- I tutor a kid and his mom always stocks the fridge with La Croix for me seriously I LOVE THIS DRINK and it was grapefruit flavor which I have been craving lately. Then pita chips and more hummus!

7:30- Shake time again!! This time I used orange team Forumla 1 and added mixed berries again! So good!

So thats its! This is what I ate yesterday besides a few tiny bites of things I didn’t snap. I had two bites of Mexican rice cause my mom ordered out but that’s about it!

I love being able to snack throughout the day it keeps me sane.

Also I don’t usually eat that many crackers/ chips it just always happens on tutoring day lol!

Hope you enjoyed!

Misconceptions about Herbalife #1

Hi everyone,

For those of you who have never seen my blog before or don’t know much about my fitness journey, I have been using Herbalife Nutrition for the past 8 months and lost 50 pounds!! Being open about my journey has opened me up to scrutiny from those around me, but many people have HUGE misconceptions. I plan on making multiple posts describing and busting these myths. Here’s the first!!

So many people say that Herbalife is not healthy-but that is wrong! Herbalife is distributed in 94 different countries which means it has to pass the food laws of said countries. On the other hand, household favorites of many American’s including Cheez-its, Kraft Mac-n-Cheese, and Doritos are banned or labeled with a warning in many other countries. Many people are quick to judge me for losing weight with Herbalife and also quick to put all of the things aforementioned in their children’s lunch. I work in a school and it makes me sick to see the things the government serves them: a tiny 4 inch piece of banana bread with 20 grams of sugar, two packages of Trix yogurt to make one serving (each with 14 grams of sugar and colored dyes), hot dogs, and tater-tots. Meanwhile, Herbalife shakes help me reach my Recommended Daily Allowance for the vitamins and nutrients I need to keep my body going. Our shakes have 2,500 calories worth of vitamins and nutrients! Above all I know I am healthy because I feel it in my body. Your body will ask you for what you need and I can easily say I have never been as fit and happy as I am (mentally and physically).

If all I had was shakes for the entire day, no that would not be healthy. But besides my shakes, I eat a variety of nutrient dense foods and complex carbohydrates to make sure I am eating enough. The second misconception is that I do not eat enough. My next post will be a “What I Eat in a Day” so you can see that I am constantly eating throughout the day!

Love,

Anna 🙂

What NOT to Say

As I’ve decided to make my fitness journey a very public one I have been noticing the types of comments people often make on my posts. Although I know all are said with the best intentions, I have a hard time receiving them that way. I urge anyone who is commenting on a person’s personal journey (whether fitness related or not) to really think before commenting.

The first thing I’ve noticed is the “you were still beautiful before” comment. Yes! I was! Although I had trouble realizing it at times, I still new I was amazing and gorgeous 50 pounds ago. I still took plenty of selfies and had the days of “OMG I am the hottest thing to exist.. EVER”. But the difference is now I am actively WORKING to get in incredible shape mentally and physically. This is what makes me feel great! MY HARD WORK. So it is almost diminishing when people tell me the old me was great. Yes, she was but she was also unhealthy and lazy. Although the comment is coming from a place of love, it’s almost redundant to even comment it. I knew I was beautiful. I realized my self-worth and that is why this journey even began.

Secondly, now more than ever, I am receiving the “Don’t get too skinny” comment. I do not know how to describe the feeling of going from being fat shamed to now skinny shamed. It is the most bizarre thing ever. I understand this is coming from a place of health concern most likely but that in itself is an insult because I am living a healthy lifestyle! I am eating more nutrients than I have ever before. I get up and move my body. I push the limits. Things I do not do: starve myself, over-restrict, diet. Also, I am still a size 6,8,10 (depending on the store) so I am not sure why people are so concerned about my skinniness. Yes I have lost fifty pounds. No I do not weigh fifty pounds. Therefore the concern is not necessary. In general, you should also just never say this to a person. It really sounds horrible and if you are honestly concerned about their health you should approach it in a different way.

If you are reading this and realizing you have said either one of these comments to me, please don’t think I hate you! I simply wish to inform people how their words can feel and to be careful with them.

Much love,

Anna
